Family Fun

We have spent he last few days just having fun with the family.  Sebastian would happily stay the whole holiday never leaving the neighbourhood.  He is having the best time, the complex has a great play park and pool which is only an added bonus to al the people he has to play with.  It has been lovely, I have enjoyed just staying put also as Luis goes around Quito doing some much needed chores.  But tomorrow we start some adventures, our first stop Cotopaxi.

Quito, Ecuador

 Arrived in Quito after 5 years.  It is so lovely to be here.  Covoid has kept us out for the last 14 months and Sebastian's Grandfather, Aunts, Uncle and cousins were dying to meet him.  It was such an emotional reunion for everyone.  I surprised myself about how emotional it was for me as well.  It was a bit of a reminder that Sebastian will never have that with his other grandparents.  But it was beautiful to see and I am so happy for all of them.  Sebastian has been having the best time.  We are staying with his sister and family in a valley of Quito.  He has a huge amount of toys to play with and everyone wanting to play with him.  

It is going to be a very special time.  So happy to be finally be here.

5 Years Married

 I cannot believe it has been five years!  We spent our fifth wedding anniversary flying to Miami for a night in transit before continuing on to Ecuador.  Our plan was do a little shopping before leaving the next morning.  Terrible plan, I hate shopping and it was very stressful and I got nothing under the stress of it.  However, we did enjoy a vegan impossible burger and chocolate milk shake.  It was definitely not healthy but it was delicious.

It was the first plane ride Sebastian really got to enjoy and he loved it.  I think he was a bit nervous of all the people and the amount of traffic in Miami he was in awe the whole time.

Alison and Simon Send Off

 Although I was very happy to have the last day of school for teachers, I was also incredibly sad as it meant our last night with Alison and Simon.  We our so thankful to both of them.  And I honestly can say we would never have stayed without Alison.  She is the best nanny ever (Mary Poppins has nothing on her).  Sebastian had an amazing first year in The Bahamas and it is largely down to her.  But I know it is not goodbye and that they are stuck with us for life.  To end the year, we had a pub night at ours.  Our very favourite thing to do and ending how we started.

I wish I had gotten a few more good photos, but we have loads and I was far more focused on spending time with them.  We will miss them but we know our story together is just beginning.

23 Months

Sebastian is 23 months today and this morning for the first time he put two words together and they were 'Bye mum'. I almost cried with happiness, it was amazing.  It has been a crazy busy month and really has just flown by.  He seems to be growing exponentially and everyday comes out with a host of new words.  He is the happiest little chappie and we adore him.  I cannot believe this is the last month I can say he is one!
