Long Weekend Sukhothai

We escaped the city again this weekend as we were lucky enough to have a long weekend.  We arrived to Sukhothai and were greeted with Zebra at the airport, beautiful sunshine and the happiest kindest people.  Sukhothai was the first capital of Siam and the temples here date back 700 years.  We arrived bright and early and had a full day exploring.  It is amazing (I had to narrow my pictures down as I have about 1000).

After checking in we rented bikes and did a short cycle around the beautiful historical park.  We went back for a change and a swim and then had a guide take us on a four hour sunset tour.

The place is properly amazing.  We came at the right time, end of the rainy season and everything is so beautiful and green.

We ended at a great night market that over looked this beautiful lake.  Day one a success!
