The Club, Styrofoam and Carded

We had an amazing last day before starting our journey to Quito today. The other Sebastian didn’t go to camp and we went to their tennis club for the day.  I have never seen a club like it. First it is huge. It has a small water park with a lazy river, bowling, mini golf, a few different swimming pools, a gym, a random zoo, a free arcade center. It is every child’s dream day out.  One thing I had forgotten about North America is how super sized everything is.  The roads, the cars, the portions, the space, everything. My first day I ran in the park and it was terrifying. Only as I was the only one (everyone else was watching the storm clouds roll in and stayed home I am guessing) and in Bangkok you are always surrounded by people. It felt so strange to have no one anywhere.  We had the best day at the club and then came home to have a Persian take away.  I was so shocked and sad to see it was delivered in styrofoam. I haven’t seen it in so long! Even in Thailand it is banned.  Besides that and in weird zoo it was the perfect day. They are really a special family.  Now on to the next destination.

At the club they had Gibbons from our home in Thailand.  I would have liked to take them home with us!

Oh and I almost forgot the best part! We went to Trader Joe’s to get some vegan items for Ecuador and some wine and I was carded! Like the guy was super reluctant to take my foreign driver’s license and wanted to see my passport. Made my day!
