The week just flew past. Busy busy busy! We did manage dancing again on Wednesday, but I have no photos to prove it. Friday I stayed in with Sebastian and his friends watching a movie and Saturday we were off for the night to Pattana Sports Centre for the Spartan Kids race. Sebastian was not totally sold on the idea, and it took a little bribery but we got there in the end. For someone who wasn't sure about it he certainly took it very seriously and gave it his all. It was a non competitive race, everyone in his age group got a medal and no first, second or third. But I happen to know he came second as I ran behind him. He is definitely fast, I was tired following. He is the oldest in the age bracket but it still did not so much for his confidence and we were super proud of him (we would have been as equally proud if he came dead last).
All about our past adventures in and around Basel, Switzerland; Quito, Ecuador; Phuket Thailand; Grand Bahama, The Bahamas; and now back in Thailand. Featuring Amanda, Luis, Sebastian and of course Lola

Bangkok Post Nurse Run
Another weekend, another run. My last one for a few weeks, I need to focus on the triathlon now. This run I went with the Grand Champion Lyndsey, we did not run the same race but it was great to go with someone. And not just anyone, it was like always being with Royalty. She, of course, won and everyone wanted her photo. I actually felt a bit like her PA at the end, taking photos and holding stuff. I loved it!
Andrew and Lyndsey's Playdates
I think Andrew, Lyndsey and family will need a break from us. I just ended up crashing their playdates all weekend. From Saturday morning breakfast, to their afternoon playdate to all day Sunday. It was far too much! Those poor people will need a long break from us for sure. I was very thankful to have Sebastian entertained all weekend and will miss them loads when they leave our building in a few weeks (probably as we keep crashing their events!).
Friday Night Social
On Friday we had three birthdays in our department. The probability of the at is quite low and certainly worth celebrating. Therefore we had a meet up at a local Craft beer place (I stuck to the wine). As it was not exclusively the Maths department, I asked Nadia and Mark Russo to come along.

Sebastian's School
For two years NIS has been a construction site as the new elementary building has been built. It is done now and beyond impressive. It does resemble a University but the spaces are amazing. They have cooking, dance studios, their own gym, music rooms, art, the most incredible library and basically two huge classrooms for each class. One is their actual room and then each class has a maker space. Last night I went to the elementary back to school nigh and saw it properly for the first time.
Luis getting ready to greet the parents.Wednesday Date Night
This academic year we decided to get a babysitter every Wednesday and break the week up. Every night we just end up looking for good shows to watch and usually end up doing that an hour and then giving up and going to bed. Wednesday is a hard day though, we have meetings, salsa lesson after school but no other day seemed to work. This Wednesday was no exception, it was a tiring day. But we decided we must pull through and make it happen. And we did, we went to Above 11, for their weekly salsa night. It was great, we practice our dancing and just around had a great time.

First Week and Double Bridge Run
It feels like we never left. Only a few days in and I wonder if we even had a holiday. But then I check our empty bank accounts and realise we must have had one. I was thankful it was only a three day week with the students, as was Sebastian. Thursday, my department met for a catch up. Saturday we had a day of shopping for Sebastian's new room, followed by a last minute get together at our house. Then Sunday morning I woke up at 3am to do the Double Bridge Bangkok Run. I was not sure I would be able to do it, as my original plan of going to bed early was shelved as being hostess with the mostess is too tempting for me. I was super happy with the run, coming 6th. In fact if I was in the next age bracket (not too far off, I would have won).
