Madonna and Myra

Yesterday two great things happened.  One, my year 9's gave me the most amazing late birthday present.  I could not believe it, a Madonna flag! Also a bracelet, stickers and a positive potato.  Super kind and the Madonna flag is possibly my favourite belonging now!  Then I returned home to Myra, Luis's Mum, who finally got here.  She was meant to be here in March but a Visa error and then fall prevented her.  It took six weeks but she finally made it!

To keep poor Myra awake we dragged her to dinner to Sebastian's favourite spot, Tony's.

Nadia Dinner

Nadia and family moving to Bangkok has made living here 1000 times better and it was already good to begin with.  It is just so nice to have people who know you, know my family, know where I have come from and the story that go me here.  We both get pretty busy and usually only see each other at family events, wine nights or with our partners.  It was really about time we had our own catch up.  Nadia very wisely we suggested we do so and we headed out to dinner last night.  A new Indian restaurant down the road from both of us.  It is certainly a cuisine we have plenty of near by but it was good food and a nice spot. But all that did not really matter as it was all about us catching up.  If we could increase these dinners we would have the entire world sorted in no time.

Love this gal with all my heart!

The Deck Brunch

I love the Deck, my favourite Sunday spot for brunch.  I just do not understand why more places in Bangkok do not cater to children.  This place is always full, as they are the only ones that I can find that do.  I pulled together 5 families and off we went.

A successful outing as usual!

House Party

It was a very relaxing week after the birthday celebrations were over.  The whole family needed some downtime after a very hectic few months.  By Saturday we  were ready to head out.  We were invited to a friend at schools birthday party.  They have recently renovated their apartment and it is beautiful.

They had party games and a lot of people I have not seen for ages.

Birthday Night

Yesterday was a rollercoaster.  I believe I was warn out from the last few months, I really missed my parents and my sister and altogether felt down.  My school day did not help and I really wanted to cancel the dinner Luis had planned.  But he insisted and Sebastian was so upset so I dug deep.  Turns out it was just what I needed.  Asit and Charu, Nadia and family and Janelle and family came for a delicious Indian and it cheered me right up.  I am very lucky to have such special people in my life.  Luis and Sebastian gave me lovely gifts and treated me like a Queen all day.

Two students gave me cake - I think to get out of work but I will take it!

Jacqui sent balloons from Taipei which was so kind!

And here begins another year!

Easter, Goodbyes and Birthday Party

We arrived back in Koh Chang after a ridiculous journey and had one last evening and morning together.  The children were so sad to leave each other.  There were some tears and planning of next trips together.  Luckily, we are only a short trip away as they are working in Manilla.   Sebastian had a visit form the Easter bunny and shared with the girls.   After saying our good byes it was time to get ready for my birthday party. Basically a kids party with a balloon maker/magician.  They had a great time.

Secret Beach and Spa Hotel

Well I learnt that my favourite secret beach (but not so secret anymore) is only very beautiful at high tide.  The tides were so low in Thailand this holiday, since I have returned from the beach I have learnt that they were exceptionally abnormally low.  And at this particular beach it really made a difference.  I felt awful for dragging everyone the hour drive form our resort.  Luckily, I made a recovery of finding a lunch spot half way back.  It had some fabulous vegan food and then the best pool.  I am not a fan of pools but this one was exceptional.  Clean and salt water and felt very jungly.  It was also our last full day in Koh Chang.

I was so sad to leave.  Our families got on so well.  Mia 4, Sebastian 5 and Ana 6, were such a good combination, they played exceptionally well together the entire time..
