It is one of my favourite weekends of the year, it is a lot of work and I feel nervous every year. but I still love it. I would have loved to have made a career of event planning but I never took the leap. This is my way to fulfill that passion once a year and it is added bonus that Sebastian loves it so much. Friday night 11 families arrived, there was a little rain but everyone had a great first evening. We had a small pub quiz to kick off the event and then of course a camp fire.
It was a full weekend. And a happy/sad one. Happy as we had a great weekend doing some last minute adventures with Paddy, Nicola and Freda. We went to the cat cafe, did Terminal 21 for the last time (one of their regular hang outs), Benjakitti park on Saturday. Sunday we went out for breakfast and then had a great day at Dream World followed by a birthday dinner for Paddy. Sad as it was the last weekend of their extended stay and this morning we had to say goodbye for now.
Saturday morning was my third individual Triathlon and Luis' first. I was so proud of him as he was not able to train for it and it was an extremely early start Saturday morning. He did very well and I think enjoyed it. I was happy with my result, coming third overall female and number one in my age group.
Last night we went to our favourite Mexican to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Always a delicious meal!
One of our favourite Thai restaurants is Buropa, a short walk away from us. It is Essan Thai food, which is from the East. It is authentic, a great price, lovely setting and we love it. What is lucky/unlucky is that Rebecca gets to be here when Nicola and family are. It meant Rebecca and Nicola can sight see while we are at work and also gives us time altogether. Dinner was so fun last night, remembering all our old times together. I also got to meet up with Nadia too, who I see far too little of!
We left Samed just in time. The rain came down like I have not seen for years. A beautiful storm to cool Thailand down.
