Halloween Night

Sebastian was so excited to trick or treat and our building. He did it so fast, it took all of 20 minutes.  I wish he got to experience the joy of driving house to house and hoping we got the houses that gave the great treats. Growing up we trick or treated in the countryside in Canada and as the countryside did not get lots of trick or treaters we usually got something great.  Today for some reason more than any other Halloween made long for those Halloweens.  Besides that the night was great, our haunted house was a hit. I would not like to make it a competition… but if it was, we won!

School Halloween

Finally Halloween! This morning we all got ready for NIST Halloween.  I tried to convince Sebastian to be more 'wild' but he was determined to wear what he wanted to wear :). It is going to be an up and down day full of sugar rushes and over excitement!

Notice Little Red Riding Hood got the wolf!

Halloween Preview

Sebastian is so excited for Halloween.  He has been talking about it for a month.  Although, I did not get much in put in what he is wearing.  I did get to create the small haunted house he was dying for.  I am hoping he likes it in the morning, we also have an added surprise wolf for the kiddos tomorrow.

Happy Halloween!

Fun times with Friends

The three hour drive felt more than worth to spend the day with clean air, beach and friends.  The kids had a great time as did we.  We went to this lovely little spot on the beach for lunch.  It had a pool which is so good to keep all entertained.  Then we returned to the house for a veggie BBQ, swim and games.

A lovely weekend!

Pranburi - Beach

And just like that it is the weekend again! This week seemed to zoom by, I think it helped that we had a mid week holiday.  I could certainly use more of those.  We had the car packed and were all ready to go the minute the bell went.  Three hours later and we arrived at Pam and Joe’s beach house in Pranburi.  We arrived in time for dinner and late night swims.

We even learnt a new game.  We do love a game!

Happy Birthday Uncle David

We were back just in time to celebrate David's birthday, as we are so happy that they are here.   The hardest thing about our job is being away from family and friends.  Honestly, I am nearing the end of the desire to be away, or certainly I would like to be a short flight away.  For Luis, he has only just got qualified and has landed a job at a  school a teacher waits a decade to get an interview at.  So, he is not as in a big rush to leave.  And to be fair, I did a lot of persuading to get him to do all the hard work to enter the industry.   Anyways, what has helped his cause is Nadia and family moving a five minute walk away.  It is great having them here, and we were all excited to celebrate David's birthday with him.  They put on quite the amazing spread.  I thought I was sort of an expert on Indian food, we have loads of regional restaurants here and an amazing selection.  Turns out I missed out a region, and it was amazing (will have to ask the name again). I think I am still full now, and it is Monday afternoon...

Richard and Sara

We finished our trip with the best surprise. I had seen a meme about missing an old work buddy and forwarded it to Richard and through this discovered we were 15 minutes apart in Bali.  I was so super excited at this turn of events. We went to meet both him and Sara at a new beach for us. It was so amazing to see them and such a coincidence. Richard now works in Jakarta, which is a two hour flight away. They are returning to UK after this academic year as are going to be grandparents (made me feel very old as I taught Ellie in Phuket). Super happy for them and so happy we got to catch up.  The next morning we spent some more time flying our kite before heading back to raining Thailand.

And some beautiful plane writing by Sebastian. Now back to a crazy amazing of work!

Nusa Dua Resort and Spa

Our last full day was another day in paradise. The resort is so beautiful.  There is also a boardwalk that stretches for 7km that you can cycle, walk, jog on.  We did some cycling and some walking on it.  We found a beautiful bay and bought a super cool dragon kite.  I think the resort is so beautifully done, lovely huge trees, grass and flowers- the things I miss so much in Bangkok.

It has been a relaxing, just what we needed after 10 hard weeks. We both have so much work to return too but trying our best to ignore for the last weekend of break.
