Fairy Tale Staff party

Friday night was our Fairy Tale staff party. I love a fancy dress party but as I had forgotten about it did not produce the costumes I would have had.  However, I was able to come up with something.  The party was excellent.  The food was superb, often as a veggie the food at these things can be average at best.  But really it was so tasty.  The costumes were amazing, I wish I had taken more pictures of all the great ones.  The Thais do not mess about when it comes to costumes.  It was nice to get to know some other staff members as in school we are all so busy.

Saturday was hard.

Mid Week Debrief

Going back to school on Monday felt much like I think it would to get hit by a train. I took the holiday very seriously and had no idea what was going on Monday morning.  By Wednesday I was a bit more in the game and met with Chris and Kerry for dinner and a holiday and school debrief.  We, as always, solved all problems to do with education and possibly all current world issues.

Always good to catch up.

Back to Nature Beach

We have been in Lanta ten nights and moved rooms five times.  Mainly as we arrived tired and grumpy (when I say we, I mean everyone but me) and the room we were given wasn’t quite the one we booked.  So after some discussion we ended up moving all around. Only on our fifth night did we stay in the one they wanted to give us (everything full so no choice).  Then we moved down south and after two nights in Katiang Bay we asked if we could move back and have the room that we initially were unhappy they had given us.  The lady very much enjoyed checking us back in.  Even more so when we asks if we could return in April.  We have had the best holiday and now just having the last few hours before heading back to Bangkok. On the most spectacular day.

A wonderful holiday.

Last Beach Resort

Once back in Bangkok I will post a more thoughtful post for the beginning of 2024.  I know one thing for sure, I will take more time writing some more meaningful posts. I do not think I have done that much since Sebastian’s arrival.  Today reinforced that.  We went to our favourite spot in Thailand, The Last Beach.  I heard Covid had closed it, it did for a while but now back in full operation (has no online presence, so couldn’t find out except for voting).  We visited half a dozen times in two years and just booked to stay in April.  It actually moved me to tears, it is a place I grieved, healed, and wished for Sebastian.  Everyone remembered us and were so happy to see Sebastian again and so sad not to see Lola.

The most beautiful places.  In all my travels, it is the most grounding and refreshing. I cannot wait to return in April.

Kantiang Bay

After 6 nights and 4 different rooms (we made some errors and ended up all over the place) in Klong Nin beach we headed down to a southern beach.  Our usual spot we couldn’t find any space, but this was the next bay over.  South Koh Lanta is so beautiful and this bay is also lovely.
