Bangkok Ladies Wine Adventure

For months I planned a trip outside of Bangkok to visit a Thai vineyard for the Bangkok Ladies Wine Club.  I went back and forth about going since Sebastian broke  his arm.  Turns out he was very excited to have Daddy all to himself, so Saturday afternoon I finally decided to go on the bus and head to the vineyard.  I was happy I did.  One, I did not realise how much I needed some time off and secondly the vineyard was beautiful.  Only two hours from us, in the fresh air, mountains, great vineyard tour, tasting and dinner.

I was so impressed and cannot wait to visit again.

Super Sebastian

Sebastian had a great week, considering...  He was a super star at school and did very well.  Yesterday he had to get new casts, a little traumatic for everyone.  But we are closer every day to getting them off!

I love these photos!

Unicorns and Rainbows

Sunday was hot.  To most people unbearably hot, records were broken all over South East Asia and we had a glimpse into what we can expect in the future.  I was one of the only ones I know that was thrilled to have this heat (well besides the end of the world as we know it predictions).  I spent the morning on our balcony soaking in the sun.  However, it did not take long for Sebastian to be bored out of this mind and we were on the hunt for inactive fun.

Blue skies and no pollution!

We went to a restaurant called The Deck, they do loads of free kids activities on a Sunday.  It is usually packed, but it was empty.  I could not understand why until I ordered my Bloody Mary and remembered it was a dry election day.

The inactivity did not last too long as we returned home to bike rides at the pool.

Nintendo Switch and Mexican

Saturday afternoon Sebastian was invited to play Nintendo.  He was super excited as he has seen the movie three times (and I am sure there will be a fourth now).  He was less excited to play, as he could not really use the controls.  But he had such a nice time and the girls were so nice to him.

I had to drag him away he was having so much fun.  But we had to go home as Asit and Charu wanted to visit and see how he was doing.

We had a wonderful evening catching up with them.  Our traditional Mexican meal and even a book signing!

Break Day 1 - Exploring

Day one of finding non climbing non swimming kids activities in Bangkok did not start out as planned.  We took the river boat to get to Jim Thompson's House to have breakfast on river and explore museum.  And the restaurant was closed for renovations.  Not to be deterred from a successful adventure day we headed to another part of the city.

We found beautiful gardens and restaurants.  We had some lunch, played with cards, and ran safely and slowly around the gardens.   19 more days, we got this!

Bank Holiday Part 2 Tumbles and Breaks

After we got home Sebastian wanted to go to our playground.  I have always thought the playground set up was an accident waiting to happen.  Unfortunately, I was right.  Sebastian took a mighty tumble from the top.  He had a reasonable reaction, tears of course but I did not think over the top tears.  We went upstairs and he quickly fell a sleep.  While he was sleeping I examined his wrists and thought we might have to go to hospital.  He woke up crying a bit more and I carried him to the hospital.  After a fairly traumatic x-ray the doctor confirmed that one hand had two breaks and the over one.  I could not believe it, and we all had a bit of a cry while the doctor plastered the arms.  Hopefully, just for three weeks and then at least one can off.

Waiting for doctor

By the morning he could hold his spoon

And he has been spoilt with love and presents from his friends in the building, school and family.  It will be a long few weeks, but he will be just fine.
