First Day at NIST International School

On Monday both Sebastian and myself had our first days of school and I can tell you we have been exhausted ever since! Sebastian loves it, he wakes up every morning ready to go at 6am but he is so tired after.  The students are fabulous and I have enjoyed the start but I had no idea what busy meant until now (and that is saying something).

The best thing is Sebastian came home with these shoes.  Which are of course not his, but are much nicer!  A great first day and almost week for all of us.

Sebastian and Mum Date - Luis and Lola

The last day before Sebastian and myself head off to school, we had a date.  At the same time Luis and Lola took off to the dog park.  All of us had brilliant days.

Lola and Daddy went to Dog Park 49.  Lola loved every minute.  I saw video evidence of her jumping jumps, playing with other dogs and basically loving life.  They even came home on a motorbike taxi.

Sebastian and myself had a huge adventure.  We went to bounce, then took the train for ice-cream, then headed for lunch, walked back home at Sebastian's request (he regretted this within four steps), then took a Tuk Tuk to Mummy's school, and then home.  What a day!  And tomorrow it all kicks off again, to commence Year 15 of teaching.

Early Years Playdate

Sebastian's school just gets more and more brilliant.  So the kids feel comfortable for the first day on Monday they had a playdate morning on Saturday.  It was brilliant.  Loads of the children, food, coffee and lots of questions answered.

By far the best thing about the day is meeting Ellie again.  Ellie was in the original baby group in Phuket.  We love those women and babies so much and now Ellie will be starting school with Sebastian.  It is beyond amazing.

Thai Mother'sDay

Thai Mother's Day is a big thing here, in fact it is a holiday and a day off.  Although, we did not particularly celebrate the fact, we did have a very full day.  We started with a breakfast that lasted for four hours with my 'buddy' from the school.  Oceane helped me with questions and concerns I had before arriving and has been a fabulous once we did.

It was a fabulous place, Honey Bear.  Loads of toys and climbing things and all the children are fully entertained.
Beautiful Aloni did celebrate Mother's Day and sent these orchids for me from her new post in Singapore.  I cannot wait to see them.  How crazy sweet is this!
I snuck in a vegan sushi lunch. Delicious.

But the highlight was finally getting to see Top Gun, finally going out on a 'date' with someone staying with someone he loves.  Top Gun was amazing, I cried the entire time.  It made me so nostalgic for a different time.  I just loved it.

NIST International School EYC

This is without a doubt an amazing school and I am so happy to be part of the team.  I am going to have to brush up on some of my skills but think I will become a much more efficient teacher here.   This week was so incredibly busy, I felt like I barely had a minute to breathe.  For the first time in my life I skipped the entire week of social events.  To tell you the truth something had to give and I was not willing for that to be time with Sebastian.  Yesterday we got the opportunity to meet Sebastian's teacher and see the Early Years Center.  It is beyond fantastic and I am so happy that he will be at this school.

His teacher is from Argentina and also lives in our building.  We both start Monday and I hope he just loves it.

Saturday Standard Mexican

It was what we do best.  Well something we are certainly very practiced at!  Saturday we had two couples from the new teachers over for dinner.  And in the end my boss who lives up stairs and wife joined us.

Sebastian was so confused when he was brought a present.  He said 'why do i have a present, it is not my birthday?'.  But it certainly helped him warm up to the new people.  Another enjoyable evening, but we are taking a hosting break!

Friday Ecuador Dinner

I have been terrible with pictures, usually I would have photos of all the events and the new people we have met.  I just keep forgetting, but the school has been on a few social evenings and it has been a great way to meet the thirty plus new teachers.  On Friday we started with the hosting.  It is what we love.

We had two couples from the building and also two new teachers.  We ate, played games and got to know each other.  Sebastian was thrilled to have Ary over.

We finished late and had a lot of fun.  What we probably should not have done was organise another dinner party for Saturday night!
