A month ago most Canadians in my school could not have cared less about the World Cup football and Canada being one of the hosts. They were uninterested altogether about the event. Well a draw and huge win in the group stage changed all this and now most of the Canadians I know have jumped right on the bandwagon. But that's what makes the World Cup so beautiful (for sure it is not FIFA that does). Yesterday we changed our England jerseys for Canadian ones and headed to a sports bar to watch Canada vs Switzerland. The result was not what we hoped for but nevertheless Canada has progressed to the next round for the first time ever.
To make the loss hurt less we then headed to an indoor play space. This helped!
