Race Day Photos

Here are some of my race day photos.  What I love about these is you can see that I am carrying my phone and car keys.  Not a good race day idea, but I forgot my small bum bag.

This is a picture of us getting the race pack.  As Lyndsey is properly famous here they were sneaking photos of her.

Cha Am Bikini Run bikini optional)

Lindsay is my absolute inspiration.  At 28 she was teaching and someone thought she was a good runner and suggested she enter a triathlon for fun.  Having never done one, she won it.  And then went from that to winning everything, across Europe.  World championships Iron Man in Hawaii and every race she enters now.  She grew up in Scotland and was good at sport but no one really paid attention.  Since that race at 28 her accomplishments are pretty amazing, championships across Europe, World wide and now famous in Thailand.   She did the 10km, I did the 5km, and she only came in 5 minutes behind me!  She won her age category, overall female and was pretty darn close to winning overall (like everything she enters).   And she is crazy modest and so helpful!

5am start

The beach was crazy hard! But did it and felt pretty happy about it!

Springfield Sea Resort and Spa

Sebastian is one lucky boy having a second weekend away with friends.  On Friday me and Sebastian travelled down to one of the closest beaches to us (Cha am) in Bangkok as Lindsay and myself signed up for a race on Sunday.  I saw this place ages ago somewhere online and thought it would be the prefect place to stay one day.  This was our chance as the same beach as the run.  It was fabulous, a ridiculous price and just perfect for children and because of that adults.  We had the perfect Friday evening and Saturday, hanging at the beach, pool and even go karting.  The go karting was amazing.  Crazy fast and so much fun!

A perfect two days!

Nadia's Birthday

For six weeks Nadia will only be one year younger than me! This is quite exciting for me :). Also being able to celebrate her birthday with her.  Having known Nadia for almost 30 years, I do not think we have ever had a birthday together.  We tried to think about one year we might have, but could not.  David had us over for some bubbles and nibbles.  Luis could not make it as him an Anto had a night on the town.

A great Thursday night, and start to the weekend.

Pool events and Awards

We woke to a perfect Sunday for the pool events.  The cooler weather had cleared away and we had bright sunshine to get everyone in the pool.  I was a bit nervous about doing the points and giving awards, as I had some very competitive people that I thought would not be okay unless they left with the gold medal.  All three teams did an amazing job and all had their strengths.  But every child got a trophy and a few medals and I was surprised how well they all handled the results.  It has been so fabulous to run into parents today that told me what an amazing time they had.  Most of the children went to sleep with their prizes and everyone wants a pre Olympics.  Sebastian talked all morning about a mini Olympics that we could have this weekend (which we are certainly not!).  I felt very emotional about it all day, not sure why, I just enjoyed it all so much.

This is always the best event.  The children love it and the parents were such good sports!

Two more years and I am opening my own business to do this for life! I love it so much :)
