Beer, Wine and Gastro

I only learnt that food posioning can be gastro and that of course gastro is very contagious when it was too late.  By Saturday morning both me and Sebastain felt great.  We all were invited to Tanya's for lunch and were super excited to catch up with her after her trip to get her Mum and friend set up.   Usually bring beer or wine to such a lunch, we brought only both of these but a little gastro as well.  Five minutes into the meal Alex was sick..

After a quick change Alex was perfectly happy (Sebasitan was the same) but I did warn them it was only the beginning.  So I learnt a few lessons this week, no dodgy fried banana (I would never have let him try if I had known, it was only after that we found out), keep children at home alone for a few days and people genuinely do like wine or beer for gift and not so much gastro.

Gastro Fun

This is a few pictures right before the next few days of food poisoning fun.  What I did not know is that it is contagious, it can be gastro.  Initially Sebastian was the only one suffering, and then my turn.

I love Fish Fry, and I bring my own food as nothing I would eat there.  I bring Sebastian's food as well and on this one occasion he tried some terrible fried banana dish and well I am sure that was the start of the next few days.

First Newspaper

With that sweet face, this is most likely the first of many newspaper articles for Sebastian Henry!  I mean that face melts.

A Huge Success

What a week! I don't know when I have been so tired, working all week and trying to plan this in six days was a challenge.  A few thought it could not be done, but with a great team behind you, all can be done.  The generosity throughout the week has been amazing.  The event was beyond anything I could have hoped for.  People came to support and after the four-hour event, we had made over $10,000 USD.  By tomorrow it will be over $11, 000(drips and drabs coming in).  We had a Ukrainian folk singing Busker, face painting, treasure hunts, adult games, amazing food, bake sale, silent auction, and pretty much the best raffle I have ever seen at a similar event.

It is not a huge amount in the whole scheme of things but maybe if everyone did a little something.  It was a lovely day and a stark reminder of how lucky we are and how fast it could all change.  #UnitedforUkraine

United for Ukraine

The past few weeks I have seen my friend, Tanya, at breaking point so many times.  Her family initially refused to leave Ukraine and then was desperate to leave. On Saturday she left for Europe to try and get her mother and best friend (who has a two-month-old with no passport) out.  I felt so helpless like so many of us and then I remembered I am pretty good at organizing events.  So I started a marketing campaign for a fundraiser this Saturday.  I had no idea how huge it would blow up and that it would take every minute of my day.  My initial goal of $1000 was passed in one day.

A local artist made this in Ukrainian colours for our raffle, I love it.

I will be off-grid till Sunday, but wish me luck and let's hope we raise a load of money for Ukraine.

Boat and Fish Fry Wednesday

This has been my busiest week in a very long time.  After school Wednesday, I picked up Sebastian and took him straight to the sailing club to board 'The Dream Team'.  It was so wonderful and nice of Sinead and Peter to take us out.

We then raced home for outfit changes and out to Fish Fry.  I can tell you these mid 40's ladies have still got it! We danced under the stars, laughed so much, and all felt 25 again.

And then sadly yesterday we put Mandy on a plane.  We were so sad to see her go, especially Sebastian.  It was a wonderful week, and I loved having her here so much.  Two more days with Jen and then I will be so sad (and tired!).

The Best Week Ever

I am having one of the best weeks ever.  I have so enjoyed having Mandy and Jen here, it has been amazing.  I have not had one minute to do anything as we are so busy but it has been a blast. And it is not over yet, Mandy leaves tomorrow but I have Jen till Saturday.  Just the best.

Monday was ladies night out.

Last night we had dinner with the sharks

And then the best night dancing, just great!
