Sebastian's First Day Out

Yesterday we took Sebastian out for his first day off the island.  Day six is a bit late to show him off, but the surgery recovery is preventing me from doing all that I want to do.  I just never realised how teeny tiny new borns are, particularly him at just over six pounds.  I think it makes him extra super duper cute (well that and I am his biased mother) and it was nice to be stopped in the street so people could have a peak.  We went to the park for a play, well Freda played as he cannot really do the monkey bars yet and then to our favourite cafe for lunch.

 Lunch at Fego
 Park change
Shelly also came for a visit
And a nice afternoon spent outside upon on our return.  Time is flying by and we are learning and falling more in love by the minute!

Family and Lola

Day five already!  Although it seems like Sebastian was always here.  It has been a big learning curve, some tears and loads of smiles.  It is definitely not as easy as it looks in the films and loads of things people don't tell you ( I think to ensure that the human race continues) but it is also pretty incredible.  We have had a few more visitors over the last couple days and expect some more over the coming week.  Nicola and Freda arrived on Friday for ten days and we had a brief but lovely visit from Fiona (my Dad's cousin's wife) on Friday as well.

He really is getting more handsome by the day!

But I have not forgotten about my first baby girl!  Missing Lola terribly and cannot wait for Sebastian to meet his big sister.  He is having a great time with his house sitters.  Being spoilt rotten and taken all over the island.  Above are some shots that they have sent us.

Home with Hopkins

I have always talked about my many homes on this blog and I have always felt super lucky that the Hopkins allow me to consider this one of them.  There are no words to express our gratitude for all they have done for our family and continue to do.  They have made Sebastian's entrance to this world that much easier and well I will always be eternally grateful.  It was wonderful to be collected last night and brought back to a home full of love and excitement for Sebastian Henry.

Love them!

Sebastian Henry

Sebastian Henry arrived into the world the morning of Tuesday July 23rd, to very excited and proud parents.  He is just gorgeous and I just cannot believe he came out of me!  We are super happy and also ridiculously tired, I just did not know this level of exhaustion existed.  Totally worth it though, just means I cannot write much, and loads might make no sense.  Here are some of the hundreds of pictures taken so far!

Emergency c section, and he was out in 6 minutes.  What a crazy night/morning it was.

 Mummy cuddles

Lots of Daddy cuddles.
Sebastian's first visitors start to arrive..

 Auntie Nicola cuddles
 Denny cuddles
6.2 pounds of total love.  I will try not to over baby the blog, but I think it is fair that I get at least a week of insane amount of pictures.

Walk, Eat, Wait, Repeat

We have got into a great routine since Luis has been here, lots of river walks and lots of eating.  Now at 38 plus weeks we have added on 'waiting' to the list of things to do.  I read into every little thing, as I have always said this baby will come early.  As I have always felt this way, Luis treated me to a very nice dinner on Monday night as we know at any minute this baby could arrive.

Daily river walk with my one summer day outfit left that fits

Mid day snack in this beautiful sunshine.

Getting ready for our posh dinner.

It was a super lovely restaurant in Marlow and  we had a great evening and as it turns out it was lucky we went that night...

The Thames Traditional Boat Festival

We are becoming quite the river people, walking along the Thames everyday, watching the boats and now we have been to a traditional boat festival.  Every year Denny and Roy head down (or up, as not that much a river person yet) the river with their traditional boat to Henley to join in the festivities.  Last night we decided to head down and see what it is all about.  It looks like a great event of food, drink, and boats. Something that I would have been very keen to stay at for the night if I was not about to pop.

We actually even introduced Pipa to part of Henley she had never been to before, we are becoming quite the explorers!

Roy having a grand old time
 The Queens row boat

 Denny's boat

The Dunkirk boats, an amazing part of British history.  A lovely evening out, I was super happy we went down to see it.
