Finally after 2.5 years of waiting, Bruce has arrived! It was almost a surprise, but it did not quite work out that way. That is better for me, as I honestly do not do well with surprise. It had been great to reconnect and now trying to convince him that a few months of retiring a year in Asia is a great idea!
We were meet at the airport by Jacqui's ex and her kids. Her flight had been delayed from Kenya for 10 hours and they came home with us. it was a crazy weekend with all three over tired, over excited children. I was so tired Sunday night and the first day back at school was a struggle. But even with the chaos it was great to see the kids again and they had a ball.
The first few days of 2025 were spent lounging at the beach watching Sebastian have the best time of his life. Him and his little gang played from breakfast until 10pm every night. I just loved watching them run free and play all day. It also allowed me to do nothing. Take a few walks, swims, watch some rubbish Netflix. Just perfect. Again we loved our stay in Koh Lanta. We have been going for 7 years and love returning to our favourite spots and being remembered. It is our special place for sure.
The year did not end quite as we thought. Our mini Bahamas reunion was cut short when Chris, Kerry and Terry came down with pretty serious food poisoning. The party was just us three and all Sebastian’s holiday friends and their parents. This is Sebastian’s dream holiday. All his favourite families from last year are back and they picked up from where they ended last year. Now the trip is really all about Sebastian and his mates.
2024 reflections. It was a good year. Luis got a job at NIST and is now officially a qualified teacher. Sebastian started ‘proper’ school and has been enjoying it. I have started trying to train for various races. We were lucky with a lot of trips and seeing many people we love throughout the year. But I will be happy to enter 2025, as I just think it has ani we ring to it!
