First Wine Club Back

First Wine club back I asked all the ladies to bring back a wine from their travels.  We got some great ones from Europe, South Africa, New Zealand and some from the local supermarket (for those of us who forgot).  Imagine, I made the rule and then forgot myself.  Whoopsie, might have had something to do with planning the busiest summer of my life.  But I did manage to find a cremant from the Alsace in Villa.  I love this bubbly wine, and it brought back memories from my Basel days.  The Alsace is a region in France just above Basel where we would frequent often.  I hope we can make it there again one day soon! Back to wine night.. It was a lovely night of catching up and sharing some lovely world wide wines.

It was also nice to see another apartment building as so often just stick around our streets.  And we enjoyed a nice rainy season walk home.

Mexicano Restaurante Autentico

Sunday I was all about relaxing.  I did not want to do anything else but sit by a pool.  So I found a Mexican restaurant with great reviews in a near by hotel.  We ordered way too much food but had a lovely afternoon swimming, playing hide and seek and eating.

Then me and Sebastian had a date with some ninja turtles.  A perfect way to spend the second half of my short weekend.

Year 10 retreat and Asit and Charu

I can finally breathe again! The first two weeks of school are so busy and put on top of that I had to go away on a retreat with Year 10.  This takes up so much extra time in planning and well then actually going.  But it is all done now.  I got back late Saturday afternoon, spent sometime hanging out with my boys and then Charu and Asit came over for a long overdue dinner.

This was a trip I was dreading.  I would just rather be hanging with Sebastian on a weekend.  But it was good (besides the food), we did some cycling and spent all our time outdoors in the clean fresh air.

We love these people.

World Cup Finals

School has been crazy.  Off the carts busy.  I already feel like I have been here months.  This weekend have to go on a trip, next weekend in for something else.  Monday night we have to be here for an open house.  I just have no time for anything. I cannot believe the final was on Sunday night and I am only writing about it now.  I was so tired I even forgot to take photos of my Barbie movie night that I was so happy to have!  I loved the movie but have no photos.  Sunday evening we headed down a local sports bar for the World Cup final.  I was so excited and so sad when England did not win.  For some reason I was so sure that they would.  Sebastian was also sad and cried and cried after the game.  But he also said later it was the best night ever and he had so much fun with the Gray's.

A fun night out despite the result.  And I still cried like a baby with emotion that a packed pub were all watching.

World Cup Semi-Final Winners

GO ENGLAND! GO WOMEN! It was so moving watching England beat Australia in the World Cup football 2023 semi-final last night.  One because England won.   But two, as I watched Sebastian watch the game I realised he just saw the game as a 'football match' not a 'women's football' but just a match.  The pubs were over flowing and I heard so many excited conversations about the level of football and predictions.  It feels like in the last few years, women's football has just taken off and I think will just open the doors for other sports to follow.  I feel excited and hopeful.

Lucy and family had us over to watch the match.

Sebastian was excited to see his team winning.
Tie die twinning.
Making new friends.
All the emotions at the end.  I felt for Australia, getting so close and not to make the final at home.  We will be watching again Sunday :)

First Day of EY2

What a difference a year makes! I cannot believe how much Sebastian has grown and how excited he was to go back to school and be the older year in the class. I also went in much more confident and feeling like I knew what was going on.  Sebastian had a great first day and was super happy to see his friends and teachers again.  My first day was hard work, with a million classes but it felt good to be in a routine again.

Andy is in his class.  His new bestie he tells me, they are even planning to wear the same colour everyday.
Home for the first day at lunch time.  He was hungry and happy.  I got home many hours later, exhausted.

Sebastian and Mummy Day

Monday was a holiday for Thai Mothers Day, Luis had to go to work so Mummy and Sebastian had a day together.  He wanted to have a day at a hotel we sometimes go to.  It is the best deal, we pay 30 pounds, get 40 to spend and use of everything at the hotel.  It is a five star of the river, the food is great, pool is big and play ground brand new.  This visit was even more special as Sebastian made a new friend, Ken from Japan, who was staying with his family on holiday at the hotel.

Sebastian and Ken, they could not communicate with speaking but became best buddies regardless using the language of play.
