It does not get much better, good chocolate, wine and friends. On Thursday I hosted April wine club at mine. It was a small one, with just nine of us, but actually really nice to get to have more one on one conversations.
All about our past adventures in and around Basel, Switzerland; Quito, Ecuador; Phuket Thailand; Grand Bahama, The Bahamas; and now back in Thailand. Featuring Amanda, Luis, Sebastian and of course Lola

Bye Bye Bangkok Jacqui
One of my favourite things about the return to Thailand is already having my Phuket friends. And Jacqui is a particularly special one. She has done a lot for me over the years and we have the Marlow UK connection as well as the fact our sons share a birthday. Sadly, for me, she is leaving Thailand at the end of June and starting a new adventure in Taiwan. This weekend she came with the kids to celebrate my birthday and say good bye to Bangkok. She has a lot of friends here as well as Phuket, having worked here years ago. Therefore, we had a small surprise dinner party for her Saturday to send her off on her next chapter.

Amanda's 21st on the 21st
Yesterday I had the privilege of turning 21 on the 21st. To celebrate we had a unicorn party at the pool. Waterslides, food, cake, unicorns, what more could one ask for! And even more special was Jacqui, Quinlan and Fiayh flying in for the celebrations.

Happy Songkran from Bangkok
Even though we lived in Thailand for four years prior to this we never spent a Songkran here. We were always away somewhere else. We were not even going to go yesterday, but ended up going to dinner somewhere that was right in the midst of the celebrations. It was so much fun and Sebastian loved every minute of it. Songkran is the celebration of the Thai New Year (although not the official New Year anymore) and is five days of water festival, partying and fun.
Sebastian was just given his water soaker (trying not to use the word gun) and was ready to roll.Thursday, 13 April 2023
The Bellevue Resort, Bohol, Philippines
Our next stop I was unsure of, I booked cancelled and rebooked hotels and I finally settled on this one. It is on the North Coast of Panglao but still not far off the main beach Alona Beach. It is so beautiful. I just cannot stop looking at the pool and the beach. They certainly have a proper slice of paradise here. The people have been so friendly as every place we have been and the daily activities for children Sebastian has really enjoyed. The food for us is not brilliant, but that is everywhere, certainly not even close to being as vegetarian friendly that Thailand is. Most vegetable dishes are scattered with some sort of meat. But besides that we have loved every minute.
Sebastian has loved the children's play ground and archery.
