What a stunningly beautiful day!

The days dreams are made of and I will miss so much next year.

William and Kate

Will and Kate (also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge), ended their Bahamas tour in Grand Bahama.  They came to see Coral Vita, one of the winners of the Earth shot prize (also our neighbours).  They went to a children's home and then to the Coral farm to plan coral.  Our neighbour, Sam, said it was amazing.  he took them out snorkeling, I think he was still on quite the high today.  We did not get to go to the farm, but we made an afternoon of it as they drove down our road.  We set up a little spot and waved them on as they drove by.

We then went back to ours for a delicious Tanya curry.  It was a great day and the first time in two weeks I have not felt terrible.

First Teacher Conference

On Friday we went to Sebastian's first teacher/parent conference.  We love his school and we love his teacher.  She said so many wonderful things about Sebastian but the most important was that the is very kind to all the students and staff.  It was lovely to be on the other side of the parent's teacher for once, especially when receiving positive feedback.  He also got 100% in his term two exams.

Some garden of the groves play time to celebrate :)

The Man.. The Myth.. The Legend

We are so happy! Bruce has returned for Colombia, Sebastian is just over the moon.  Poor Bruce is on full duty now as Sebastian will not leave his side.  He has come back to see us for a couple of months before he returns to Colombia where he hopes to make a home.

We are all so happy :)

Still Cannot Laughing

I honestly thought those signs that people post really could not exist or were just in the bible belt of the US.  I was wrong, yesterday as I drove by this church I had to slam on the brakes and turn around to ensure I read what I read.  The poor man that had just finished completing the sign was super happy I was taking a picture.  I think he thought I was for other reasons.  I have to drive by again in a few days just to check it again.  Too funny!

One day, possibly one day I might mature!  But not today!

Faces of Sebastian

By Sunday, Sebastian was eager to leave the house.  We headed down to one of his favourite spots, Garden of the Groves.  We did the usual, feed the turtles, look for ducks and play in the playground.  While sitting waiting to go down the slide I asked him to show me all his different 'faces', I had never asked this before and was curious.

Happy

Silly
Grumpy
Angry

Sad
Scared
Excited.

What was so sweet, besides the fact that he is so sweet, is he told me each facial expression.  It was too cute.

Beer, Wine and Gastro

I only learnt that food posioning can be gastro and that of course gastro is very contagious when it was too late.  By Saturday morning both me and Sebastain felt great.  We all were invited to Tanya's for lunch and were super excited to catch up with her after her trip to get her Mum and friend set up.   Usually bring beer or wine to such a lunch, we brought only both of these but a little gastro as well.  Five minutes into the meal Alex was sick..

After a quick change Alex was perfectly happy (Sebasitan was the same) but I did warn them it was only the beginning.  So I learnt a few lessons this week, no dodgy fried banana (I would never have let him try if I had known, it was only after that we found out), keep children at home alone for a few days and people genuinely do like wine or beer for gift and not so much gastro.

Gastro Fun

This is a few pictures right before the next few days of food poisoning fun.  What I did not know is that it is contagious, it can be gastro.  Initially Sebastian was the only one suffering, and then my turn.

I love Fish Fry, and I bring my own food as nothing I would eat there.  I bring Sebastian's food as well and on this one occasion he tried some terrible fried banana dish and well I am sure that was the start of the next few days.

First Newspaper

With that sweet face, this is most likely the first of many newspaper articles for Sebastian Henry!  I mean that face melts.

A Huge Success

What a week! I don't know when I have been so tired, working all week and trying to plan this in six days was a challenge.  A few thought it could not be done, but with a great team behind you, all can be done.  The generosity throughout the week has been amazing.  The event was beyond anything I could have hoped for.  People came to support and after the four-hour event, we had made over $10,000 USD.  By tomorrow it will be over $11, 000(drips and drabs coming in).  We had a Ukrainian folk singing Busker, face painting, treasure hunts, adult games, amazing food, bake sale, silent auction, and pretty much the best raffle I have ever seen at a similar event.

It is not a huge amount in the whole scheme of things but maybe if everyone did a little something.  It was a lovely day and a stark reminder of how lucky we are and how fast it could all change.  #UnitedforUkraine
