Robert's Birthday Bash

Yesterday we went to Robert and Rosette's to celebrate Robert's 46th birthday.  They hosted quite the party and everyone had a great time.

Folkestone National Park

Yesterday we had a lovely afternoon with Aunty Andy up at Folkestone National Park on the West Coast.  I have never ever been there and it was beautiful.  A great spot for a picnic and snorkeling.

A terrific afternoon out.  We will have to go again.
Barbados is COVOID Free!! Well for the time being anyway, I am sure this will change the minute the airport opens (well people will at least not feel at ease anymore).  It means for the next two weeks we have to go out and celebrate loads as who knows when we will be back on lockdown!
The man beside Natalie is Brian Lara, a very famous West Indian cricketer.  I actually lectured him about egos, very embarrassing.

Fourth Anniversary

A few days ago, June 25th, Luis, and I celebrated four years of marriage.  It has been a pretty eventful four years, full of many adventures, challenges, and the expansion of our family.  When I look back on it I am pretty amazed at all we have done.  Moved to a new continent across the world where we were able to travel to so many destinations that I never imagined I would be able to see.  We had Sebastian, something both of us were not sure would ever happen and are so incredibly thankful that we were able to.  And then there have been the rougher times, losing my incredible father, Luis's Mum getting cancer, being stuck out of Thailand with no date to get Lola back and the worry of when we will get to go to Ecuador to visit Luis's family.  But all of these things have been manageable because we have each other.  I am so incredibly lucky to have such an amazing partner for all these experiences, the good and the bad.

We had a great morning and afternoon on the boardwalk and then Carib Beach bar.

In the evening our good friends, Amy and John, had us over to their beautiful home.  It is so lovely and they are even lovelier.  They had loads of nibbles and bubbles for us and we just had a fabulous time.  We then hit the boardwalk, leaving Sebastian with Auntie Natalie.  A great day!

Jodi and Axel

First off, Jodi's boyfriend's last name is Funk, like how cool is that!  Secondly, he is a super nice guy so got our approval, which of course is crucial.  Last night we went out to dinner with Jodi and Axel, a double date Godmother and Goddaughter.  I have no idea where the time has gone and how on earth Jodi is old enough to be going on dates with me but she is.
 Ahhhh, too sweet!
 Godmummy and daughter
And a picture of us without Sebastian, a rare event!! A lovely evening out.

11 Months and Janelle

What a fabulous day, Sebastian turned 11 months and I reconnected with a great friend, Janelle.  Sebastian had another great month in Barbados, he is a super fast crawler and takes more and more steps every day.  He has loads to say and is eating all the food he can get his hands on.

 He is just a dream.
A few weeks ago we were walking along the boardwalk and I ran into this beautiful woman.  I was so super excited to see her, she is one of those people that I lost touch with over the years with but thought about a million times.  She is an incredibly special person and we are so similar in so many ways.  We decided to have a dinner date and I hope this is the beginning of many more.

We had a lovely meal and a great catch up.  There was so much to say, I rambled at a speed that was even fast for me.  It was so great to see her again and I look forward to our next day/night out!

Fabulous Father

I have been lucky in my life to have two wonderful fathers.  My father and now the father of our son, Luis.  Yesterday was his first Father's Day, and he had a wonderful day being spoilt by us.  He did not quite get the marching band he requested or the fighter jet flyby (damn Coronavirus) but if I could have organised it I would have.  Sebastian is so incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic father and a fighter jet flyby is the least that he deserves.

Early morning Fathers Day walk on the boardwalk.

I then organised a snorkel with Jamie and Sabrina.  They went to two wrecks and he had a fabulous time.

We then raced off to lunch at Castaways.

Then home for some presents. Sebastian painted this painting all by himself.  We just gave him the brushes, we even let him choose the colours.  I think it is amazing!

And we finished the day at Blakey's for a Biggie Irie Fathers Day special.  Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's out there and the special ones that have sadly eft us.

Cooking with Chef Luis

Yesterday Freda had her first online cookery lesson with Luis and Sebastian (he was sous chef).  They made the most famous dish from Quito, Locro.  IT was such a nice experience and a great way to keep in touch while learning.  Freda did an amazing job and I think she will be quite the chef one day.

Luis and Sebastian helping Freda with her cooking.
To be fair I was also an important part having peeled and diced the potatoes.

Nicola and Freda enjoying the finished product.
Sebastian and Luis enjoying their finished product.  A lovely way to start the day, next week lentils and rice :)
