Great First Trip

Despite the lack of dolphins, the jungle and the super long drive for a weekend trip we had a great time.  We have learnt what not to forget (travel cot) and what not to bring (loads and loads of over packing).  I also, again, realised how hard it must be to have more than one baby and take me hat off to the many with multiple ones.  We had to strategize everything in order to keep Sebastian happy and Lola safe.  But we did it and everyone had a lovely little mini break.

We got up super early to head to the beautiful beach before we headed back in time for Luis's tutoring.  It was such a glorious morning.

Luis found this great beach front restaurant as we had been struggling to find any decent vegetable food (except Thai of course and I just am not sure about fish sauce when I am away form the places I know).  It was fantastic, the best risotto I have had in Thailand for sure.
I love this photo of my boys.  Back to Phuket now and even I have more tutoring is now, so that is great!

Khanom Beach

Well we had no luck with the dolphins, possibly one should have done a little more research and learnt that the season had just ended.  But hey ho no one likes pointing fingers and really we had a great time looking for them.  Further Khanom beach is beautiful in its own right and we had a lovely afternoon looking at the sea (we could not actually go in it, as too difficult looking after the kids).
We pretty much had it all to ourselves.

We found a restaurant on the beach and parked up there for the afternoon.  I was so happy to have some salad on my plate.  Khanom may have pink dolphins and beautiful beaches but they are not big on vegetable only dishes.

Lola is having a magical time.
A great way to spend a Sunday.

Pink Dolphins #1

We left early this morning to get on the water and spot some pink dolphins.  By 7am we were on a long tail boat, everyone covered from the sun and excited for the adventure a head of us.  We only went for an hour, as even though early we know the sun can get strong.
All dressed and ready to go.  Sebastian might not look a lot like Mummy but he sure has the same morning happiness that I do.  He always wakes up full of smiles and play.
The Thai ladies at the pier were so excited to see him.
 Off we went!

Lola was so happy to take her little brother out, she is an expert on these long tails boats.

We spent an hour looking, all throughout this beautiful national park.

We kept everyone covered at all times, Lola kept her on on her little brother which was helpful.

Sadly, these were the only dolphins we saw on this trip.  But the trip was super beautiful in its own right and maybe we get lucky on our next attempt!

Hallo Villa Khanom

Possibly it might have been a bit ambitious to book our first family road trip to a small town, 300 km's away in pretty much a jungle bungalow to search for pink dolphins.  But unsurprisingly I did it anyways, packed the four of us into the car and headed to Khanom.  It was only half way there that I realised I had forgotten the cot, Lola's bed yes, Sebastian's no (well done Mummy).

I think everyone was a little surprised when we arrived.  But hey I like rustic and besides the mosquitoes, snakes and whatever animals lurk in the jungle, it is lovely.
We no longer just roll with one back pack and check out my 'Sebastian' station.  How time's have changed!

Lola has even made friends, how she has mellowed in these twilight years!

We will have a great family mini-break.
My first pink dolphin but I am confident we will see more, otherwise it could be pointed out to me that it is a long way to go to sit on a beach similar to the one 12 minutes from our home!

Sebastian's BFF

This could be one of those annoying blog posts.  It all depends if you are someone that isn't into seeing pictures of possibly the sweetest baby ever.   But, well, sometimes I just have to be that mother.  And at two months and two days he is just so much more alert than he was even three days ago.  Lots of laughter and smiles, and looking around to see what is going on.  Today we went to the Blue Tree to meet up with his best friend, Lorelei.

When we got to Blue Tree, Sebastian was keen to show off his new swimming to Lorelei.

He then got out of the water and tried to act really cool.
But in the end he gave her his killer smile and moved a little closer.
He first went with no top, but we made him get dressed.

And then I realised how 'girl' and 'boy' they looked, my favourite thing!  That is the only baby blue thing he owns!
He then got home and was full of beans for the entire night, over excited having spent the day with his BFF.
